Scott Wells Hired as Entertainment Director of Houston’s Magic Island

Rising like the fabled Phoenix from the ashes, the Magic Island planned to make its debut again with even more impressive entertainment and outstanding dining. To assure that the entertainment will delight, Scott Wells has been hired as the Entertainment Director charged with booking high quality performers coming into the Island. Scott’s background as a former “House Magician” for the Magic Island for many years plus his respect from magicians around the world should assure guests that their experience will be memorable.

After 25 years of operation, Houston’s Magic Island closed in September 2008 following Hurricane Ike and remained closed for over ten years. The owner, Dr. Athari, long dreamed of bringing life back to this iconic nightclub that was a jewel among the places for dining and entertainment in Houston. Renown the world over, the Magic Island featured some of the top magical entertainment from Las Vegas to the high seas, film and television. Served with fine dining of fresh catches from the Gulf Coast to prime choice meats along with your favorite beverages and an impressive wine cellar, the Magic Island featured close-up, sleight-of-hand magic and grand scale stage illusions for their patrons in an elegant atmosphere.

Unfortunately, at this time the project has been put on permanent “hold” with no opening date set.

Some day, we hope that this tradition will continue as the Magic Island brings “magic” back to Houston!
